Our Story

After surviving a school shooting during her first year of teaching at her alma mater, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Brittany Sinitch founded The Unbreakable Organization from her family’s kitchen table. What began as a response to senseless tragedy has grown into a national movement supporting youth mental health and resilience.

The Unbreakable Organization empowers youth by providing year-round mental health resources, leadership opportunities, and peer support through a range of trauma-informed, culturally responsive programs. From school-based workshops and on-campus mental health activations to journaling-based healing spaces and storytelling sessions, our programs equip young people with the tools they need to care for themselves and lead change in their communities.

Since 2019, we’ve awarded over $43,000 in scholarships to students impacted by gun violence. But our work doesn’t stop there. Each scholarship recipient joins a mentorship program that fosters healing, connection, and personal growth, ensuring they know they’re never alone in their journey.

Our Youth Advisory Board plays a critical role in shaping and leading this work. Alongside a licensed Clinical Advisory Board, educators, and mental health professionals, we ensure that everything we offer is rooted in clinical best practices and informed by the lived experiences of those we serve.

We’re creating safer spaces, reducing stigma, and helping schools and communities build a culture of connection and care. Through consistent support and meaningful collaboration, we believe young people can reclaim their stories, support one another, and discover what makes them truly unbreakable.

Even in the darkest moments, you are

unbreakable.
